bush_001The founding principal of Majlis Partners is Mr. Robert C. Bush Jr. He has more than 19 years of professional services experience, proven international investment acumen and has been engaged in a full array of relevant financial and operating activities, including private equity, corporate governance, product development, due diligence, risk management, Islamic Finance, third-party negotiations and oversight.

Mr. Bush was a Managing Director of Istithmar PJSC, a private equity and alternative investment firm established in 2003 by the Government of Dubai. Additionally, he was a co-founder of Marco Polo Network - a Bermuda-based emerging markets focused electronic platform for global investors to trade equities and derivatives listed on emerging market exchanges. Prior to Marco Polo, Mr. Bush was the Chief Development Officer of Peak6 Investments, an equity derivatives technology and proprietary trading firm based in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Bush is a 1987 graduate of Amherst College where he studied philosophy and was elected president of the student government. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Charles Hamilton Houston Prize, the Kellogg Prize, and the Hardy Prize. He also attended the Master’s program at Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, The Johns Hopkins University where he studied international economics with a regional focus on the Middle East and was the recipient of a Frank Savage Fellowship. Mr. Bush holds a Juris Doctor from The University Of Virginia School Of Law. Mr. Bush is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and has served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Bush is a sportsman and was a National all-star rugby player for the Western Region of the United States. By invitation of the Government of Dubai, he is an avid endurance horseback rider.
