Majlis Corporate Governance is the Corporate Governance practise within Majlis Partners. It provides in-depth expertise on all areas of corporate governance, in particular on corporate governance issues relating to Boards, Family and Private Companies, Private Equity Investors, SWF and GRE, Public Companies, SME’s, Subsidiaries, Banks, ESCA 518 Code in UAE.

The team is led by experienced professionals:

David J. Brimacombe MA
David has worked in the field of corporate governance for over 20 years. He has deep experience of corporate governance within banks, publicly quoted companies, private companies, and organizations in many different countries, including Australia, Bahrain, Botswana, DIFC, England, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Jersey, Kenya, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and Zimbabwe.

As former General Counsel and Company Secretary in a large, complex, international bank, he is steeped in the practical aspects of corporate governance in addition to being current with the latest academic developments. If you are experiencing a corporate governance problem, he has probably encountered and resolved a similar challenge.

He has an M.A. from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, (D.C. Thomas Memorial Scholarship) and qualified as a lawyer in England and Australia.

Robert C. Bush Jr. JD
Mr. Bush is a financial services executive with almost 20 years of experience in private equity, hedge funds, and investment banking. His experience includes managing risk in developing and emerging markets for a broad range of government, corporate, institutional, and family business clients with complex cultural traditions, high concentrations of ownership within uncertain legal and business regimes.

Mr. Bush received his Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College, attended the Master’s Program of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), The Johns Hopkins University, and holds a Juris Doctor from The University of Virginia School Of Law. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York

Muna Farid:
Senior Consultant, Corporate Governance.
Muna read law at the University of Vanderbilt in US and qualified as an attorney in New York. She has worked in New York, Hong Kong, Asia and the UAE where she has held a number of senior positions focusing on law, regulation and corporate governance including General Counsel and  Head of Regulation at Nasdaq Dubai.

Louise Nell:
Senior Consultant. Responsible for non-executive search, training and business development
After graduating from Nottingham University UK with a first-class honors degree in French, Louise has pursued a consultancy career, notably in France, UK and the Middle East, specializing in delivering cross-cultural, management development and executive search solutions to international organizations.  An experienced facilitator, Louise is operational in French and English.

Ian Wishart:
Senior Consultant. Responsible for Corporate Governance issues arising from Intellectual Property
After graduating in Chemical Engineering at Edinburgh University, Ian Wishart trained to be a patent attorney. This included periods in private practice and industry, including a major pharmaceutical firm in Switzerland. His technical expertise includes mining and metal refining, general chemistry and pharmaceuticals, as well as trademarks. He led the IP function in a FTSE 100 company for over 20 years, and was appointed Director Patents & Licensing. He has extensive negotiation and contract experience at board level.

Lucy Mason:
Company Secretary.Responsible for company secretarial and business administration.After graduating from London University (Royal Holloway College) with an honors degree in Modern History, Lucy gained significant experience as a successful executive in one of the UK's leading banking institutions, specializing in corporate communications, administration and social responsibility.   She is a qualified associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
